I really love what I do. Wedding Photography is not my Job, it's my life (just ask my wife, she will tell you !!). And I feel very lucky that so many amazing people open their world to me and share such a significant moment in their lives. I know you are tired of seeing the same boring wedding photography from the same boring photographers. Of course you want your wedding photography to be no stress and as fun as possible right? You value quality images, and your wedding day photography is not something you can leave in the hands of just anybody. Even if your wedding is not Scottish or Celtic in any way what-so-ever, I embrace Australia's multi-culturalism and can still be your wedding photographer. I have been called many things, boring isn't one of them. |

Williamstown Wedding
First of all I would like to say I loved the red wedding shoes!!
Yesterday Annelise and Jason were married one of my favorite wedding venues of all time, Witchmount Estate Winery.
Why is it a favorite? Because thats were I was married !!
And once their afternoon reception had finished, we went for a quick trip to the beach at Williamstown for a few more photos.
This is one of my favorite images from the day.

Liza & James – Ballarat Wedding
I am lucky enough to photograph a couple of weddings in Ballarat every year, and I love it. Here are some of my favorite images of the bridal prep at Oscars in Ballarat from the wedding of Liza and James.

Another perfect start to a perfect wedding day.

Proof Books
I thought you might like to take a little look at these wedding proof books that I had delivered a while back.
Exciting huh!!
You can clearly see that not every proof book has the same number of pages, because no wedding has the same number of images… There is a big difference between an intimate afternoon beach wedding and a lavish 14 hour celebration.

5 Wedding Proof Books.
Even though they are only proof books, I do put a little bit of effort into them. So its only fair to put a little effort into photographing them as well, right?

Inside the proof book - Just a little peek
The image below shows the 2 types of Proof Book cover. Classic Black on the right, and Image Wrap on the left. They are the same on the inside, only the cover is different. Actually, they are not exactly the same because they are from 2 different weddings, but you get the idea right? Yeah, of course you do.

Image wrap & Classic Black
Personal choice on which one is better, and I happen to like the black. So here are a few images to give you a bit of a look.

Overall view of the Classic Black Wedding Proof Book.
.

Clean and simple, another view of the Classic Black.
Below is a close-up of the back cover of the Image Wrap. And yes, I know the photo is a little on the arty side, but thats what we are here for right?

Back cover of the Image Wrap Wedding Proof Book
I hope you enjoyed my little proof book blog post.
And for those camera geeks that are interested, the details of the images are as follows.
Captured by :- Canon 5D Mark II & 50mm/1.4 – ISO 800 – 1/60 seconds @ f/1.4 – f/2.0 (depending on the image)

Keeping it real.
Many Melbourne Wedding Photographers have a habit of turning up to the reception and staying for 5 minutes. They shoot a few details, do a mock cutting of the cake and then leave. Well, I have to say its not my style. I mean seriously, if you are not actually going to cut the cake, then what is the point? A mock cake cutting is just an image of 2 people standing next to a cake with a knife, its just not real. You see, the thing is, you can’t fake a real moment and you need real moments to have real emotions.
Some photographers even take it a step further and asking the Bride and Groom to do a fake first dance, and no, I am not joking… Imagine standing in an empty room with no ambience, on a dance floor with no music… Hmmmmm.
It doesn’t surprise me that I cannot recall ever seeing a really good fake first dance photograph… they all just look very … well… fake.
So, it should come as no surprise that I am there for the real thing !!

Then followed by a Kiss
Capturing moments like these is just not possible if I was one of those who only stay for the first 5 minutes of the reception. And its that reason alone that my standard wedding package has 8 hours of coverage, so you don’t have to fake it on your wedding day.

Validation
A while back I was looking for a little pick-me-up, some inspiration, something to get me moving… and I found it… in the form of a cute little mini movie that was easy for me to relate too. And so, I thought I would share it with you.
Here it is… Validation.
